The opportunity

As the performance.io rocket ship keeps climbing, we need to grow our in-house team of expert content managers to keep up with the huge demand for search engine-optimised content in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries! We need someone with solid medical writing experience, combined with a keen interest in creating content for the web to join our small (but growing!) copywriting division.

Curious about how Google ranks content and want to write informative, scientific content that doctors and patients will actually see? If so, keep reading.

A bit more about performance.io

As our name suggests, here at performance.io we’re all about online performance; primarily we work with pharmaceutical / healthcare clients, though we do work with a few other exciting brands too! With countless pharmaceutical and healthcare websites out there with little to no organic traffic, the untapped potential for search-optimised content in these industries is huge!

As the only pure-play specialist SEO agency in healthcare and pharma, we help our clients break through the noise of misinformation and poor quality content. Our passion lies in healthcare because it’s where we believe we can do the most good. By creating accurate, helpful content that ranks highly on a search engine results page, we make sure that anyone who has a health-related search query gets the information they need.

What will you be doing?

  • Learning the ins and outs of SEO through our performance.io Academy.
  • Conducting research across a range of therapy areas to ensure content is scientifically accurate.
  • Writing clear, informative, and accurate medical copy for doctors, patients, and the general public in line with performance.io’s SEO strategies and guidance.
  • Collaborating with the SEO team to develop quality, search-optimised copy.
  • Guiding junior team members and providing senior review to ensure we produce quality, scientifically accurate content that aligns to performance.io’s content development guidance.
  • Manage client and internal communications regarding content across multiple projects, and lead content discussions on client status calls.
  • Working closely with Content Team Leads to ensure projects are running smoothly and support your development.

What experience do you need?

  • Educated to at least Bachelor’s degree level in life sciences, medicine, pharmacy or a related discipline.
  • At least 1 year of medical writing experience.
  • Able to distil complex medical concepts (e.g. disease features, drug efficacy and safety data) into simple content that’s clear, concise, and compelling.
  • Demonstrated experience managing the review process of content deliverables for pharma clients using applications like Veeva.
  • Existing knowledge of SEO is a bonus, but certainly not required – our performance.io Academy will get you up to speed in no time!

What type of person are we looking for?

  • Overtly curious – always asking questions and challenging the way we do things. As a small but growing business, we’re always looking for ways to improve our ways of working to benefit everyone.
  • Digital-savvy – are you excited at the thought of digging into the data behind content performance and rankings on Google? Do you get frustrated not knowing who is engaging with your content? Perfect – keep reading!
  • Likes a chat – in a fast-paced agency environment, overcommunication on project progress, issues, and priorities is key. We also want you to feel comfortable speaking your mind, and know that the best meetings start with a nice chat.
  • Deadline driven – you can’t beat the satisfaction of ticking a job off your to-do list on time, right? If you’re nodding your head then this is the job for you.
  • Expert plate spinner – you’ll be working across a variety of accounts, balancing different clients, therapy areas, and types of content. Our writers love the variety, but it means you need to keep your head straight and shift priorities at a moment’s notice.
